We are looking for a proactive and customer focussed individual with the ability to improve our Garages Service across the Borough, working closely with the Assistant Director, Neighbourhood Delivery and colleagues within the Commercial Development Service to develop these services and to ensure that revenue is maximised and opportunities to develop the portfolio are identified and implemented.
The role will be responsible for implementing effective processes for all aspects of income management and service delivery. Managing a small team and working with relevant colleagues across the Council you will identify and implement additional uses of the garages portfolio to create commercial opportunities. You will also ensure there is an effective programme of stock improvement work and implement necessary arrangements to manage and monitor necessary repairs.
We are looking for an individual with strong commercial, budgeting and financial management skills, the ability to analyse problems and identify appropriate solutions. You will be able to communicate effectively to a high standard, orally and in writing and be able to write complex reports.
The ability to use a wide range of computer packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Experience with Orchard software and/or Microsoft Dynamics would be of benefit. Experience in an operational service of similar scale and complexity would also be advantageous.

Following a review of our Housing services we have embarked on an ambitious Housing Improvement and Transformation journey. As part of this we have taken the approach to reimagine our Property directorate bringing together all areas relating to property, leading to better collaboration, synergy and customer centric service provision.
With a stock of just over 10,000 properties, and an ambition to deliver exemplar services across Responsive Repairs, Voids, Capital Investment, Strategic Asset Management and the decarbonisation of our social housing stock data is key.
We are in the closing stages of updating our stock condition survey information and already have a performance tool in place that takes this data and plots the performance of our social housing stock, helping us to make long term strategic decisions.
We are seeking an exceptional individual with significant experience of managing a Housing Asset database, with the technical prowess to advise on key areas including investment decisions and business planning. You should have a proven track record of managing procurement and contract management processes, compiling Asset Management Strategies linked to data combined with excellent horizon scanning abilities to ensure current, emerging and future legislation is considered and be able to demonstrate linking data into financial business planning.
This key role reports into the Head of Asset Management and is front and centre of our ambitious plans. The ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues and contractors is required as well as tact, diplomacy and the ability to negotiate.

What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lead Conservation Officer to join the Design and Heritage team within the Specialist Services section of our Planning Development Management Service. You will work alongside and provide specialist advice to colleagues in Development Management on all aspects of development affecting the historic environment to ensure that a high quality of place results from development proposals and applications in the borough.
The role will involve liaising with other Services, elected Members, members of the public and applicants at both application and pre-application stage. You should have experience of working in a Local Authority and of providing advice on planning applications and appeals relating to Listed Buildings, Conservations Areas, Registered Parks and Gardens and their settings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Private Sector Housing Team.
Our Private Sector Housing Team regulates unsafe housing within the borough including fire safety in high, medium and low-rise buildings and a reactive service to complaints with a view to rolling out proactive based working projects wherever possible.
You will be a motivated and proactive individual who will take responsibility for ensuring high standards, leading a team of 6 officers to regulate the private rented sector in Dacorum. The team is also responsible for delivering HMO licensing under the national mandatory scheme as well as providing sound advice to landlords, tenants and partner agencies.
The posts present an ideal opportunity for an individual who already has in-depth experience and knowledge of the regulation of the private sector and are perhaps looking to progress their careers into management. You will need to have the relevant level of qualification and experience in one or more of the service-specific subject areas, including a sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and enforcement.
You will act as advisor to the Assistant Director, Head of Service, Manager and senior management on the allocated service.
You will work in collaboration with other services and senior management to ensure that services are joined up appropriately and are aligned to the achievement of the Council’s aims and objectives.

The Neighbourhood Delivery service is at the heart of delivering services to residents in Dacorum, whether this be parks and open spaces to trees and woodlands to street cleansing and grounds maintenance to cemeteries and bereavement services to parking services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Greenspaces and Projects Manager within the service. The postholder will lead teams managing Dacorum’s parks, open spaces, trees and woodlands as well as playing a pivotal role in the delivery and development of Suitable Alternative Nature Greenspace (SANG) sites within the borough and leading the implementation of the Council’s new Parking Solutions Policy. The postholder will also be the Council lead and champion for biodiversity and Nature Recovery.
Additionally, the postholder will work with colleagues across the Neighbourhood Operations Directorate and the wider Council to deliver service improvement whether this be delivering efficiencies, whole service transformation or implementing digital solutions to improve our accessibility by the public.
The successful applicant will have proven experience and knowledge in delivering high profile and front-line services as well as managing teams across multiple service areas, experience of site management and stakeholder engagement (internal and external), project/programme management and along with service planning, improvement and delivery skills.
