An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Leadership Support Manager to provide executive PA support to the Chief Executive of the Council and to manage the delivery of the PA function across the Council.
This is a completely new role at the Council so you will be able to shape the function and the new team. You will provide a full executive support service to the Chief Executive and you will also manage a positive and proactive PA function for senior officers and councillors at the Council.

We are currently seeking a Lead Officer to support the Council’s busy licensing service.
Key responsibilities will be dealing with a wide variety of statutory licensing and registration functions affecting businesses and other organisations throughout the borough, you will ensure complex licensing applications and enquiries are dealt with within the required deadlines, supporting both the Licensing Manager and the team to apply policies and legislation affecting the service area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Centres Health and Safety Maintenance and Compliance Officer at Maylands and Kylna Business Centres within the Place and Enterprise Service. You will provide excellent customer service to tenants and visitors to present a professional, efficient service, as well as a clean and tidy site.
You will be required to provide a wide range of duties relating to the site management and maintenance, compliance and administrative support for both Business Centres, to the Business Centre Manager and wider team as well as collaborating with other services both internal and external. Ability to work with minimal supervision and be enthusiastic, self-starter and flexible to approach the day to day challenges that arise. You will be required to be a key holder and be on call to open and close the centres if out of hours activity occurs or in the event of an emergency.
The ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues and contractors is required as well as tact, diplomacy and the ability to negotiate. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to achieve defined performance targets.

The Council has a duty to provide temporary accommodation to applicants, whilst their homelessness application is investigated. The Council manages its own units of temporary accommodation in the Dacorum area and also uses accommodation outside of Dacorum when required.
You will be working with a variety of households and client groups, some who may be vulnerable and you will be required to liaise with the appropriate internal departments and external agencies to ensure that licenses are sustained and any issues addressed.
You will be required to place applicants into suitable, available accommodation and undertake a sign-up process when requested, following the relevant legislative guidelines and internal procedures linked to this process.
You will be responsible to liaise with internal departments, monitor the occupation of temporary accommodation in accordance with the license agreement; this will include dealing with notifications regarding license payments or license breaches and conduct evictions.
The role will involve both office based tasks and regular site visits to ensure standards are met in the temporary accommodation, including communal cleaning, repairs and redecoration, health and safety inspections, insurances (equipment and building) and report defects where necessary, to ensure that the Council retain a high standard of provision.

You will act as advisor to the Head of Place and Enterprise and support engagement with Cabinet and Council and senior management on the allocated projects for delivery.
You will ensure that the projects are managed within the financial regulations, and within the annually agreed and approved budget for the service. Ensure that the projects are delivered within the Council’s framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control processes and the appropriate legislative and regulatory requirements.
You will work in collaboration with the Head of Place and Enterprise and Assistant Director of Place Communities and Enterprise to ensure that projects support the delivery of the Council’s aims and objectives and to deliver the corporate vision, values and priorities of the Council.
This role is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months for external applicants or as a secondment opportunity for internal employees.
